Firefly Spirit Animal — Inner Light, Magic in the Ordinary and the Courage to Glow in the Dark

Each firefly species has its own specific flash pattern — duration, interval, and colour of the light are species-specific and individual-specific, allowing fireflies to find each other across the dark of a meadow without visual landmarks or other reference points. The light is the identity. The pattern is the individual. In the dark, fireflies communicate more precisely and more specifically than most animals can in full daylight.
